🔹 Show/Hide App Icon Feature
✅ What is It?
The Show/Hide App Icon feature allows the app to appear or disappear from the device's home screen and app drawer on demand — without uninstalling it.
- Visible mode: The Normal app icon is shown; users can open it directly.
- Hidden mode: App icon disappears; app runs silently in the background.
📲 Key Use Cases

🔒 Legal & Ethical Considerations
Aspect | Notes |
---|---|
User Consent | Mandatory upfront consent is required to monitor or control apps. |
Parental control | The child should be informed depending on age/jurisdiction (COPPA, GDPR Kids). |
Workplace (Enterprise) | Employees must know that monitoring is active, even if the app is hidden. |
No spyware/malware | Hidden mode without consent is illegal in most countries (US, EU, Canada, Australia). |
Transparent Policy | Must be disclosed in app's privacy policy and ToS. |
🚫 iOS Limitations
- iOS does NOT allow hiding apps or running "invisible" apps.
- For enterprise or parental control on iOS, apps must use Apple MDM (Mobile Device Management).
- The hidden app concept is only feasible on Android (within limits).
🚀 Optional Enhancements
